Reiki and Sound Therapy Sessions
A session is typically 90 minutes long. First, the session begins with a discussion of what dis-ease of the mind, body, or spirit you are experiencing. Many clients report that this sharing is an important aspect of the healing. You may choose to complement your Reiki session with vocal sound healing or tuning fork therapy for a small additional fee. Once it is discussed what to expect in the session, you are invited to lay down on the massage table, comfortably clothed, and breathe deeply.
You always have two ways to experience the session:
- Relax and Receive
Just as it sounds like. Best when you are not well-rested. Most condusive to falling asleep.
- Co-create and Participate
I will guide you in particular breathing exercises, visualizations, or
maybe even invite you to make a sound with your voice. I will intuit what will be helpful for you and you choose what you are comfortable with.
I will then gently lay my hands on or slightly above different locations on the body to help the body receive the energy. I use a combination of intuition and training to make the treatment appropriate to your individual needs.
Each person experiences Reiki differently. Many people have experienced tingling or changes in temperature. Some may have an emotional release. Others may fall asleep. All people have reported experiencing a feeling of great relaxation.
The session is concluded with sweeping your energies. Then there is a brief discussion on how the session went and what further treatment will be necessary to reach your wellness goals. It is recommended that you drink water after to assist in eliminating toxins that have been stirred up.
Reiki is strong, but subtle so it may take time for results to be felt by a recipient. It is best to journal any changes so one can see the results themselves.
Traditionally, Reiki was offered three days in a row. I have found that, typically, it is best for one to receive Reiki at least three times with less than a week in between sessions in order to bring the energy systems into balance. Chronic conditions and depression will usually require multiple sessions. Similar to acupuncture, the effects of Reiki will stay with the body an average of three days.
The more that a person experiences Reiki, the more they benefit. Once balance is achieved, maintain your wellness with regularly-scheduled sessions. Reiki, as with all complementary therapies, reduce stress more effectively when followed consistently over a long period of time.
A 90-minute session is recommended, but shorter appointments are available if there are time restrictions.
